For this episode we take a long, dark road to the demented world of Briarcliff: the '60s insane asylum at the heart of American Horror Story Season 2. It's got an intrepid journalist, Nazi doctor, mysterious aliens, man-made zombies, possessed nuns and a serial killer named Bloodyface. If AHS Season 1 was a church potluck, with too many strange flavors fighting for attention, AHS: Asylum is a seven-course gourmet meal, where all the batshit insanity these writers can image works thanks to great pacing and even better performances. Pairs best with an Avery White Rascal or Odells 90 Shilling.
